Short biographical note
Mahsa Kiani is a full-stack data scientist with over a decade of experience as a computer programmer, researcher, and instructor. Mahsa is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick. She hold a Master's degree in Computer Engineering - Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering - Software. Mahsa also has a diploma in University Teaching and a certificate of Appreciative Advising from Florida Atlantic University.

She has collaborated in various data science projects including assessing socio-economic impact of ICT rural telecenters (UNESCO), e-government, e-learning, e-health solutions, and virtual universities. Also, Mahsa has worked on graphical models and network algorithms, descriptive analytics (e.g. on network traffic), prediction using regression models, anomaly detection, feature extraction and similarity measures, clustering (e.g. of electronic health records), recommendation systems (e.g., for building innovative image processing techniques, regression models), as well as machine learning (e.g., character recognition using neural network).

She has received several recognition awards and grants, such as distinguished researcher award and IEEE special grant. Mahsa has been a reviewer of various scientific journals, has served as a member of technical program committees, and has been a chair of several conferences.

Her research interests are Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and their applications to solve real-world problems.
